Original fileThe whole. The booklet one gets at the museum explains the first mention is by Karel van Mander, an early art historian. What goes on is not really known, one sees groups of women conquering demons, an approaching army hiding under a town’s walls, phantasy animals reminding us of Hieronymus Bosch play harp, dance and are spread all over the landscape. In the midst of it all Dull Gret roams, separate of the violence, and yet part of it. Bought in Cologne, 1894 for 448 franks.
