About This Work

Bronze Nataraja from Shiva’s Tandav-dance place Thiruvangadu and Ceramic Swastika from Persia, painted by Santiniketan artist Rammanohar (Jabalpur-born Beohar Rammanohar Sinha) on page 113 of the original calligraphic Indian Constitution. Rammanohar was mentored by the revivalist modernist Indian maestro Nandalal Bose. Rammanohar was his favorite disciple who also played an important role in India’s cultural diplomacy with the Far East, painted breathtaking frescoes in Martyrs-memorial Concert-hall and founded Lalit KalaNiketan (G.I.F.A.) in Jabalpur.
