About This Work
The engraving depicts the monarch standing in highly detailed plate armor, holding a commander's baton and resting his left hand on his sword hilt. He stands beside a table draped with a cloth bearing a coat of arms, upon which sits his plumed helmet. The portrait is accompanied by Italian text describing his short but military-intensive reign and his death in 1660.
