The scene features a youthful figure in a vibrant red garment positioned in a celestial blue space, framed by a decorative border of classical grotesque motifs. Below the clouds, the tops of several saints' heads are visible, identified by their tonsures and delicate, gold-dotted halos. The work shows the characteristic clear light and balanced composition of the High Renaissance, despite visible areas of plaster loss.

This fresco represents an early stage of Raphael’s development of the 'Disputa' arrangement, which visualizes the Neoplatonic concept of a hierarchical, harmonious cosmos. The geometric organization of the figures in semi-circular tiers reflects the Renaissance effort to reconcile Christian theology with Pythagorean and Platonic ideas of celestial order.
