An Italian engraving, c.1465, showing the Roman god Saturn devouring one of his children and holding a scythe (his attribute) decorated with a dragon biting its tail (a symbol of eternity), with four children at his feet; inscribed at lower left, 'A', at lower centre, 'SATVRNO XXXXVII', at lower right, '47'; encircled by a frame of diamonds; from the 'E series' of the 'Tarocchi Cards of Mantegna', the set illustrating the 'Firmaments of the Universe'.
