PhilosophyIn Newton's era, "Natural Philosophy" was the standard term for the study of nature and the physical universe, encompassing what we now call "science" or "physics."

original: "LIBRO PRIMO" — Book One. In the published Principia, Book One establishes the "Laws of Motion" and focuses on the movement of bodies in a vacuum, providing the mathematical foundation for his theory of gravity.
