A detailed architectural bookplate appears here. The design is framed by fluted pilasters supporting an arched pediment. At the top, within the arch, is the text "Library of Columbia University." Below this is a horizontal frieze inscribed "Avery Architectural Library." The central portion of the plate contains a memorial inscription on a rectangular tablet. The base of the structure features decorative scrollwork and a sequence of panels containing symbols and Roman numerals.
