Sketching out the breadth, dimensions, and practical uses of the entire future Work.

A woodcut printer's mark or emblem depicting a female figure in classical armor and a helmet (Minerva, the goddess of wisdom) standing next to an olive tree. A scroll entwined around the tree trunk bears the motto "Do not stray beyond the olive trees" original: "NE EXTRA OLEAS"; this was the trademark of the Elzevir publishing house, a proverb meaning to stay within the boundaries or stick to the subject. At the base of the tree, on a small patch of ground, sits an owl, a traditional symbol of wisdom.
