They call the model of the first kind Ichnography Ichnographia: a ground plan or footprint of a building showing the arrangement of foundations; that of the second, Orthography Orthographia: an elevation or vertical drawing showing the front facade; and that of the third, Scenography Scenographia: a perspective drawing that shows depth and three dimensions and Scale Model original: "Proplasma," a Greek term for a physical model, often made of clay or wax, in Latin called a Module original: "Modulum" or Model. It pleases us to imitate all these things in this General Description original: "Diatyposi" of ours: and first, to delineate only the bare foundations of the Pansophic Temple Templum Pansophicum: the "Temple of All-Wisdom," a central concept in 17th-century philosophy representing a universal and harmonized system of all human knowledge; showing what kind of Work it is that we desire, and why it is now necessary to undertake thoughts regarding its construction? This will be our Ground Plan original: "Ichnographia".
Next, we shall explain its requirements, both in terms of Material and Exterior Form: this will represent the upright face of this Temple and shall be called the Elevation original: "Orthographia".
