be taught to fix [his heart], so that at last man,

XVII. Regarding the creation of such a Pansophic BOOK,
so that serious thoughts might be undertaken,
the very order of Divine Providence
now leads us there; the Necessities of the human
race compel us; present opportunities invite us.
To have explained these three things will be to
have laid the foundations of the Pansophic Temple Comenius envisions his system of universal knowledge as a "Temple," a sacred and orderly structure where every truth has its proper place..
XVIII. GOD, because He is wise, acts
orderly in all things, each in
its own time; as the wise
Solomon says A reference to Ecclesiastes 3:1: "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.": and because He is good, He acts for the good.
This, therefore, is the process of an ordered Good:
that it grows as it goes, progressing from Good to
Better, from the Lesser to the Greater: until it
comes to that point than which nothing greater or better is
possible, that is, to Perfection. All the
examples of His works bear witness to this
process of God’s wisdom.
XIX. In this way, although He was able
to produce the World in a single moment,
He nevertheless willed to employ a span of time,
and a gradual succession of forms imprinting
themselves upon matter This refers to the Genesis account of creation, where the world was formed step-by-step rather than all at once.: [completing] His works
