Extracted from an original

letter of high potentates,

In which it is reported how it actually

transpired with the capture of the excellent region of Bahia, located in the

Kingdom of Brazil, from which the King of Spain has claimed for himself

annually some 80 or 90 million in gold revenues, and which for

a long time he has held in a

violent manner,

But which now the High and Mighty Lords States-

General have overcome with a magnificent victory and brought

under their power.
