A decorative initial letter 'Z' features a bird, possibly an eagle or phoenix, perched atop a pedestal or architectural element containing the letter.

An ancient medal provided the opportunity for the invention of this coin. On that medal, one sees Minerva, and on her Sturm-Haube helmet, the portraits of the two most famous philosophers of antiquity; namely, Socrates and Plato.
