Account of the Medal Struck for the Society of Alethophiles in Berlin

A horizontal decorative band consists of floral and geometric ornaments with a central star-like flower.

...of which the one in front represents the late Mr. von Leibniz, and the other represents the Government Councilor Mr. Wolff, as the greatest Weltweisen philosophers of our times. This is accompanied by the inscription borrowed from Horace: Sapere aude Dare to know, which means: embolden yourself to be rational.

The reverse side contains the following memorial inscription: Societas ALETOPHILORUM, ab Ern. Christophoro S. R. J. Comite de Manteuffel, instituta Berol. MDCCXXXVI. Society of the Lovers of Truth, established in Berlin in 1736 by Ernst Christoph, Count of the Holy Roman Empire, of Manteuffel.
