It is not the Teacher (Учитель): In this tradition, a spiritual guide or an elder adept who provides direction rather than direct knowledge.’s fault if the student is lame or bow-legged and hobbles where one ought to walk straight; or if he is cross-eyed and blind, staring up at the sky while beautiful things lie right beneath his feet; or if he runs headlong and stumbles when the Teacher commands him to walk at a steady pace.
Do not hurry! The greatest mysteries of Nature (Натура): The personified force of the physical and spiritual world, often viewed as the "second book" of God. are close to us, and simplicity finds them more quickly than arrogance. Not everyone is worthy of the honor of being admitted into the temple of Nature; the Deity has arranged all things so wisely that the wicked cannot deceive Him.
A bird lives in the air, a fish in the water, and a man upon the earth; each element (стихія): One of the four fundamental substances—earth, air, fire, or water—believed to constitute the world. requires its own specific organization original: "организаціи" — here referring to the physical or spiritual constitution of a being suited to its environment. In the same way, the Temple of Mysteries (храмъ таинствъ): A metaphorical space representing the inner sanctuary of hidden natural and spiritual laws. requires a specific organization suited to that sphere in which the Wisdom-lover (Мудролюбецъ): A literal translation of the Greek "philosopher," used here to denote a spiritual seeker. desires to dwell. He who wishes to comprehend the mysteries of Nature must study her great book. This book is Nature herself. Happy is he who knows the letters in which this book is written; happier still is he who can assemble them into words; but happiest of all is he who knows how to read this book.
