And now I’ll explain the mysteries,
Why I ordained it so.
In heaven’s high courts, enthroned above,
The rebel Satan was placed there;
And well he knew I loved the Son,
Distinguished from the rest;
This caused his pride to swell and throw aside
My Son’s united reign;
Satan’s malice caused this to swell,
And made the heavens unclean.
He then began to act as god and king,
And thought to reign in heaven;
He gained a following for a mutiny there,
And he was driven out from there.
All heaven stood in disorder,
And parties rapidly increased;
Had I not cast him headlong down,
The tumult never would have ceased.
No sword of war ever appeared
More dreadful here below;
But the loud sound made heaven resound,
As the tumult quickly showed.
Satan was declared king by some
And was then pronounced so in heaven;
To show them the nature of his bloody reign,
A kingdom was soon given to him.
"Now I’ll explain what I mean;
I claim the heavens as my own;
And soon I banished him from there
And then dethroned him.
To test his future reign again,
I soon created man Adam/humanity,
To fill the place that Satan left,
And to command paradise.
Now I’ll begin to show to man
How I made him at first,
And according to the perfect heavenly plan,
I ordered all the dust.
I made the man in my own form,
Standing in my own likeness;
I made him lord of all below,
And gave him everything that was good;
I made my plan so much for man
In order to resemble heaven;
I took the partner from his side,
Who was given to him:
So like my Son, the woman came,
The partner of his soul,
