In hell, they will contend in war
To all eternity.
So I will end here and say no more
Of that great judgment day;
I have given you a faint description
Of what it will then be;
Such battles fought, such victories achieved,
And Satan’s pride will burst,
Condemned by all—'What! must I fall,
And man be preserved at last?
Then I can swell no more in hell,
The angels will blame me—
What! must I see such a destiny
As sets hell in flames?'—
So now at last it will kindle fast;
For then the fire will burn;
It is from them the flames must come,
And return upon their own heads."

When He brings all this to light,
It will be a glorious view:
Men’s hearts enlarged to speak His praise;
For who can describe it?
It may echo in endless days,
But none can judge His worth.
I know my soul must go too low
To fathom things so deep.
I shall leave my own thoughts on the justice of God on the day of judgment to wiser heads than mine, and to profound theologians divines, who I know will write about it when they are certain it is from God. But I shall answer a few objections that some have already made upon hearing it. They did not believe
