the leaves of which I thought they had gilded all over with gold, and tied ribbons all over the tree, as a sign of some great victory they had won. There were officers there, with swords glittering with gold and ribbons tied to them; all of which seemed to have the appearance of some great victory. When I awoke, I thought I should hear of one; but it was answered in the following manner:
"Then now I will explain the victory,
And tell you all the war I mean.
My servants shall come like soldiers;
The TREE OF LIFE shall be made known,
Appearing in golden colors;
The ribbons show the victory there.
So you will lie down on your bed;—
The day for ME is found at last,
That I meet an earthly judgment:
This solemn day must finish it.
But how, you will cry, can I appear,
Though in my heart I wished it were near?
But now the solemn day has come,
That I have long wished for in my heart.—
You will stand much like Peter,
Though boldly launched by my command,
To warn the jury to appear;
But then your faith will sink in fear:
'O save me, Lord!' will be your cry;
'Can such a simple worm as I
Appear before such learned men?'
'I sink! I sink!' will be your fear:
Like Peter, you shall find my arm;
And in the galleries you shall see
The glorious victories worked by ME.
The soldiers are the men of God;
The glittering sword is the Spirit's word;
In golden colors shall appear
The TREE OF LIFE; that day I will make clear,
And every sign I will then make good—
I bought your ransom on the wood Referring to the cross."So let the JUDGE and JURY come;
The TREE OF LIFE shall be made known
Appearing in golden colors;
And all shall find my Spirit near,
