TO THE LORD CONSULS, The Consuls refers to the Burgomasters or Mayors who headed the city's executive council.
TO THE LORD SCABINI, The Scabini (or Schöffen) were the lay judges or aldermen who sat on the city court.
TO THE LORD SYNDICS AND SENATORS, The Syndics were legal counsel for the city, while Senators were members of the governing council.
Of the famous and very ancient Imperial Free City of Frankfurt, original: "Francofurtensis". Frankfurt was an "Imperial Free City," meaning it was a self-governing territory responsible only to the Holy Roman Emperor.
