In 1763, Pernety The OCR reads "Pauchy," but this refers to Antoine-Joseph Pernety (1716–1796), the expedition's chaplain and naturalist. accompanied as
chaplain the expedition of
Bougainville to the Falkland Islands original: "isles Malouines".
Chapter 6 is dedicated to the manners
and customs of the Brazilians.
