taste sweetest also to the Spirit / and to the spiritually minded: Whereas / those things written in carnal / pagan worldly eloquence / please those most who are overfilled with the spirit of the world: But be assured / dear reader / that the Kingdom of God original: Reich GOttes consists not in such (lofty carnal) words / but in power original: Krafft; referring to the divine energy or spiritual efficacy described in 1 Corinthians 4:20.: And of such power / this man speaks so beautifully / so thoroughly / so clearly in this book / that you will feel it within yourself / provided you bring to it a heart / that seeks your edification original: Erbauung; the process of spiritual "building up" or growth. more than mere knowledge original: Wissenschafft; in this era, this referred to intellectual or theoretical learning rather than the modern definition of "science.". Know also / and mark it well here at the beginning once and for all / that everything this teacher writes in this book proceeds from living experience / since he does not / out of mere knowledge / chatter empty talk / a heap of words and wind: Oh no / rather he writes from the Spirit / which has allowed him to experience what he writes / therefore all hungry and spirit-thirsty souls find a lovely Manna in his writings
