On the Primary Principles of Meteors. 13.

In the Renaissance, "Meteors" (Meteora) referred to all atmospheric phenomena, including rain, wind, snow, and lightning, rather than just space rocks.

And as it seems to me, these are the true and essential foundations of cold and heat, or their primary causes: namely, the varying property of the divine divinity within this world. Moreover, just as both of these simple qualities proceeded from the divine state (which is why they are "active agents"), so also two other secondary qualities In traditional physics, the four qualities are Heat, Cold, Dryness, and Moisture. Heat and Cold were considered "active," while Dryness and Moisture were "passive." are observed to emanate from these. These secondary qualities are procreated from the various changes of the moist nature, which it undergoes due to the variety of actions of the opposing simple qualities...
