Giovanni Lucido (also known as Ioannes Lucidus Samotheus) was a 16th-century Italian scholar. This work, "On the Correction of Times," is a significant Renaissance treatise on chronology—the science of arranging historical events in their proper order and reconciling different calendar systems (such as the Hebrew, Greek, and Roman calendars).
A "privilege" was an early form of copyright granted by a sovereign or the Pope, giving the printer exclusive rights to publish the work for a set period, in this case, ten years.
