A decorative marbled endpaper (paper decorated with floating pigments to resemble stone) typical of 17th or 18th-century bookbindings. The pattern features organic, swirling shapes and spots in shades of sage green, salmon pink, ochre yellow, black, and white. On the far right edge, a narrow strip of the inner leather binding is visible. It is decorated with a fine gold-tooled border that shows a repeating classical motif of arches and small floral or leafy elements.
