Therefore, minority is a general principle and root in the tree, through which there are many minorities: so that in it there is a disposition and power, by which some of its parts are smaller than others. It has been said about the roots of the elemental tree, and doctrine or knowledge has been given: how the elemental tree is situated according to the nature of its roots, which we have discussed. Because of this, knowledge can be had about primary natural things sustained, sown, and disposed in the tree, how they are led to habits and acts by natural agents descending and derived from the first ones: just as the second man who descends from the first, and the second hen from the first, whom God first created: so that through natural operation they might lead into act the individual instances of species existing in the tree, according to what we have said above.
