Aristotle, Ethics, book 10.

If the intellect is divine compared with man, then the life lived according to the intellect is divine compared with ordinary human life. We should not follow those who advise us that, because we are human, we should only think of human things; rather, as far as possible, we should strive to live as immortals and do everything in our power to live according to the highest part of our nature. original Greek: Εἰ δὴ θεῖον ὁ νοῦς πρὸς τὸν ἄνθρωπον, καὶ ὁ κατὰ τοῦτον βίος, θεῖος πρὸς τὸν ἀνθρώπινον βίον· χρὴ δὲ οὐ κατὰ τοὺς παραινοῦντας ἀνθρώπινα φρονεῖν ἀνθρώπους ὄντας, ἀλλ’ ἐφ’ ὅσον ἐνδέχεται ἀπαθανατίζειν, καὶ ἅπαντα ποιεῖν πρὸς τὸ ζῆν κατὰ τὸ κράτιστον τῶν ἐν ἡμῖν.

And again chapters 8 and 7.

That perfect happiness is a certain kind of contemplative activity is evident from this: we believe the gods to be most blessed and happy. A person will not live this way simply because they are human, but because there is something divine within them. original Greek: Ἡ δὲ τελεία εὐδαιμονία ὅτι θεωρητική τίς ἐστιν ἐνέργεια, καὶ ἐντεῦθεν ἂν φανείη, ὅτι τοὺς θεοὺς μάλιστα ὑπειλήφαμεν μακαρίους καὶ εὐδαίμονας εἶναι· τῷ δὲ δὴ ἄνθρωπός ἐστιν, οὕτω βιώσεταί τις, ἀλλ’ ᾗ θεῖόν τι ἐν αὐτῷ ὑπάρχει.
