THAT IS:

THE HOSTILE INVASION OF THE FORTRESS OF HEALTH, OR THE TER-

rifying and savage encampment of the Cardinal Diseases original: "Morborum Cardinalium." These are diseases associated with the four cardinal directions and the primary humors of the body. around the citadel of health,

the violent eruption of unwholesome Meteors original: "Meteororum insalubrium." In the 17th century, "meteors" referred to any atmospheric phenomena, including winds, vapors, and storms, believed to carry disease. from the four corners of the world against its ramparts original: "propugnacula",

and the tight siege of human life and safety:

"I saw four Angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, to whom it was given to harm the earth and the sea, etc." original: "Vidi quatuor Angelos stantes super quatuor angulos terræ, tenentes quatuor ventos terræ, quibus datum est nocere terræ & mari, &c." REVELATION 7:1.

SOUTH original: "MERIDIES"

A large circular cosmological diagram centered on a terrestrial globe.
