"My bones are burned as a hearth, my heart is smitten and withered like grass," etc. Psalm 102:4. The text cites verse 9, but the quote corresponds to Psalm 102:4 in modern numbering. And Job 27:21, referring to a feverish condition, says: "The burning wind will take him up and carry him away," etc. By these passages it is made evident that Jehovah uses an Angelic windy organ The "organ" here refers to a natural instrument or medium—in this case, the wind—through which an angel exerts divine will upon the physical world. in His "Eastern" aspect within the macrocosm. From this, I believe it does not escape the wise man that God, in His Eastern disposition, acts in the macrocosm through His burning Angel Samael. Samael is the governor of the planet Mars, whose role is to consume the spirit and ignite it with flames; hence he is rightly called the "Consumer" by the Prophet. Psalm 79:6 The text cites Psalm 75:9, but the quoted verse "Pour out your wrath..." is found in Psalm 79:6 and Jeremiah 10:25. Scripture says: "Pour out your heat upon the other nations that do not know you, for the consumer has consumed Jacob." It is as if it said: Your burning Angel, driven by Your word, has consumed the people with a burning plague. For David saw the Angel of the Lord between heaven and earth 2 Samuel 24:16 striking the people with a drawn sword. This angel is called the "Destroying Angel" in the text, by means of whom Jehovah also struck 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians. 2 Kings 19. Likewise, this destroyer or devastator of Jehovah struck every firstborn of Egypt.
This, therefore, is the reason that from the "Eastern plague"—or in His Eastern property—we have understood Jehovah in His anger to have addressed the unjust or disobedient man according to the Mosaic text. Sirach 39:33 "Because you did not observe my commandments, I will strike you with a hot wasting disease, and with a burning and parching fever, and with drought and the royal disease original: "morbo regio"; historically referring to jaundice, though sometimes used for other wasting conditions., which shall pursue you until you perish." Deuteronomy 28:22. Furthermore, we have depicted Samael, the great fiery Consumer or Destroyer of the East, riding upon a Dypsa original: "Dypsam"; a legendary serpent of the desert whose bite was said to cause an unquenchable, fatal thirst.. This is because whenever that species of serpent bites, it causes the victim to die from intolerable heat and thirst. For that little animal is one of the visible forms of the Eastern plague which God uses in His Eastern property to inflict a blow upon the unjust. Concerning these, the son of Sirach The author of the Book of Ecclesiasticus. says:
There are spirits that are created for vengeance, and in their fury they confirm their torments; such as fire, hail, and the teeth of beasts—namely, scorpions and serpents. These shall feast upon the commandments of God, and in their time they shall not overstep His word, etc.
But just as every visible thing is believed to have previously existed as an invisible thing, so indeed there are visible spirits of this kind, just as there are invisible ones who strike invisibly, as was said before. Finally, this fiery consumer of spirits is surrounded on all sides by cohorts of ignited spirits resembling flames of fire, who are ready to carry out the will of their lord—that is, to afflict the human spirit, whenever Michael (who is the guardian and protector of that fortress) grants place and permission.
In the "Northern" property of God, when He turns His face away from the creature—that is, when He contracts the circumference or the act of life—He Himself punishes and afflicts mortals. Hence Moses says: God leaves the wicked and hides His face from them, Deuteronomy 31 so that many evils and distresses may befall them. That is to say, by God contracting Himself into Himself, darkness and deformity remain. Then the spirits of darkness have power and dominion in that body where previously the bright face of God shone, producing life, motion, and health through the angels of light. According to David: Psalm 104:29 "When God hides His face from the creature, they are troubled" (that is, they fall ill); "when He sends forth His spirit, they are recreated" (that is, they are restored to their former health). The Kabbalists call God in this property Elohim In Kabbalistic thought, the name Elohim is associated with Gevurah (Judgment and Severity), whereas YHWH is associated with Chesed (Mercy).. His influence is poured out primarily into the sphere of Saturn, and from there into the "Angelic windy organ" of the Northern region. They say that this name Elohim therefore argues for the severity of God originating from the cold, which is the author of the "Boreal" (Northern) contraction, and for that reason it is attributed to the judgment of God. They say the dark angels serving Him are called Ben Elohim original: "Sons of God"; here interpreted as agents of divine judgment., for they intend Elohim to signify terror and dread. From Him and His spirits come the Ben Elohim, whose princely Angel is Mahažael. According to their doctrine, he is given the power to harm the earth and sea from the North (Aquilo), the Northern place from which all evil comes due to cold. Hence the Psalmist and Job say: "By the breath of God frost is given. Who can stand before His cold?"
For this reason, therefore, we have conceived in the preceding hieroglyphic figure God...
