'We furthermore conjure thee and decree concerning thee PILIT (or BILID) son of ANT, son of NASHARON, son of SHAMLON, son of MINIKUAM, son of JUKAR, son of SHAMSHA, son of NAADAME, son of VATALE, son of VASHVASH, son of ASHRAUD, son of MARA, son of ASHMEDAI, son of SHUNARON (or SHOMRON), who were princes over all the angels and Caesars, for he ruled in the days of Solomon and in the days of the Prophets, and ruled over you by reason of great deeds—thee do we adjure by force and all who are near thee. We further adjure thee, O BILT, that thou come as a help for the sake of the glory of thy father ANT, and for that of thy mother NAEMAH, with favour and not in anger, with joy and not in sorrow, with truth and not with falsehood, to do that which I have desired, &c.'

I, Bilt the Great, the Eastern One, am ready to respond to you on every question that you ask, and to fulfill your will, your desire, and your longing entirely; ask of me and it shall be done immediately. I am Ashmedai Also known as Asmodeus, often cited in Jewish lore as the king of demons who assisted Solomon in building the Temple., King of the South, the Great Philosopher. If you desire to know concerning things past, present, and future, behold I am ready to answer and to resolve your doubts for you.
A characteristic counterpart to such request will be found in the reply on fol. 46 a:
'I, BILT the Great, the Eastern One, am ready to respond to every request which thou makest, and to fulfil thy will, and wish, and longing entirely; ask of me, and it shall be done forthwith; I, ASHMEDAI, King of the South, the Great Philosopher. Wouldst thou know concerning the past, present, and future, behold I am ready to answer, and to solve all thy doubts.'
One of the most interesting, perhaps, of all the Conjurations, is the one occurring in the Appendix, fol. 6 a-6 b. It runs as follows:
In the name of the Lord God of Israel, who dwells between the Cherubim, may He appear. (sic) The scribe likely intended to write "appeared." The Holy One, Blessed be He, entered the Garden of Eden with the angels following after Him. They entered into the midst of the Garden of Eden with scowling faces, saying to one another: "Why is the Holy One, Blessed be He, scowling?" [Because] He is angry on account of the lowliness meaning the suffering or affliction of [Name] son of [Name] who has a wound in his eye or "bad waters" A historical term for cataracts or glaucoma.. The angels said to the Holy One, Blessed be He: "Just as it is in Your power to heal him, so may it be Your will to heal him" (MS.).
And I adjure this wound or these waters that are in the eye of [Name] son of [Name] in the name of the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, and in the name of I Am That I Am, and in the name of Metatron The highest of angels in mystical tradition, often called the "Prince of the Presence.", and in the name of the Seventy-Two The "Shem HaMephorash" or 72-syllable name of God, believed to hold immense power over nature. of the Holy One, Blessed be He, and in the name of Adribon, and in the name of Shabchiya (another version: Shabtai, the spirit associated with the planet Saturn), and in the name of Shemuiel the Great Prince, and in the name of Shamshiel the Angel, and in the name of Elijah the Prophet, and in the name of Michael and Gabriel and Raphael, and in the name of Hadraniel, Piskhon, Mitmon, and Sigron—the holy angels—and in the name of all the angels on high, and in the name of the Seraphim, the holy Chayot Living Creatures, and the Ofanim Wheels, and in the name of the ten generations, and in the name of the ten Torah scrolls, and in the name of the seventy names, and in the name of the angels who serve before the presence of the majesty of the Holy One, Blessed be He, and in the name of bread, water, and wine, and by everything the Holy One, Blessed be He, created in His world: that if you be a film, or a growth, or water, or whiteness possibly a leucoma or white spot on the cornea, or disease, or a stone, or a thorn, or any darkness, or worms, you shall go away or die and depart from the eye and from these eyes; or whatever thing it is, it shall be erased and go out of these eyes—from the eyes to the flesh, and from the flesh to the bone, and from the bone to the skin, and from the skin to the hair, and from the hair to the earth—in the name of the Lord God of Hosts.
This shall be performed three times a day, and each time he shall sprinkle [water] with his ring finger (sic) The "kamitza" or ring finger was often used in medicinal rituals. in the water and let one drop fall in the name The translator suggests this means "into the eye." and he shall do this for nine days or twenty-one days and he shall be healed with the help of God. Finished.
