Secondly, that which is said
It should be known that in the womb there is a leading of all things over the gumalikely a corruption of 'gemma' or 'gumma', referring to the vital sap or formative substance and the wretched mass, and it is placed upon the bitterness and rendered to be embittered; and that which is the great umbilical cord is wondrous, and they say there is something else in the womb in which it is directed and nourished. And there is the chewing and the juice of the vessels to the veins of the womb, so that they might be its own; from the bones to the belly of the mother. Therefore, when the chewing has gone out from nature to the mixture made, this to that, and because there is a delay from one part of the womb into the womb, nor is there movement from that motion and rest until it comes to the head, to its own place where it is able. And it has strength, as it is said, it goes out from a narrow place—namely from the vulva—into the world, and it is constricted and outside of here it is weighed down and suffers pain on account of the curvature and the impulse of the wind referring to the 'pneuma' or vital breath/gas believed to aid birth; and the seed is fled from the exit at the hour of the fall of the mother.
And when it shall go out, it must be restrained with the eyes toward the light of the sun if by day, or to the light of a candle by night; and it breathes toward the light and changes, for the eyes are changed in a way that is in the beginning, which was not before; and by its goodness which it did not have from nature, it preserves the senses of the womb in the heart, to which it is mixed. You shall see in the one born on the day of his birth, that when the day of birth [comes], he tends with his hands toward the sufferings of the mother and of all those things which God gave. And when he is swaddled, he ought to be cleansed, for that cleanliness was the Beast This insertion is cryptic, perhaps a moralizing gloss or a reference to the 'animal' nature of the unbaptized infant by its own wisdom, and which was not able to be here by reason; and when He gives life and death when He wills, it is amended.

And the delay of the one born in the belly of the mother is from this day in which the seed is established in the womb until the day and hour of its exit from the belly of the mother. It is said here that from the completed greatness of the mother, the one born first is proven when he had been in the heart, having gone out from the belly of the mother; and the eyes, after they are made light, which is the Messiah of God to show then under the number; and take those degrees which go out from the ascendant to the 3rd degree and double that, and divide by 12, and however many come, they shall be the hours. And because there are four days, add the days over 243 days; this is the mean delay The 'mora media' or average gestation period.
And that which happens concerning the delay of the one born in the belly of the mother: if the teeth are found before the degrees, then all from above to the 3rd degree, and double the whole, and divide by 12; and what remains shall be days, and what is left over shall be hours. And add these days and hours to the lesser delay, which is 248 days The text seems to fluctuate on these numbers, common in medieval astrological medicine. And that which happens from the delay of the one born in the womb now, which is the breadth of the delay of your mother; and the second delay is the mean delay of 243 days; and the third delay is the greater delay, which is 288 days. The greater delay is from the leading which is from the ascendant; it is said that when you add this over the mean delay, the greater delay will go out, which is 288 days. Example of the heart and the parts: the greatness of the mother is directed as the fruit was seen; and first take the degree which is at the 3rd degree and mix with the adjusted hour, which is said in the table of the mother; and add over 248. And first, by this leading of the degree, as to the delay of the one born in the belly of the world; and what is reborn is the mean, which is of God. And first, the degree of the middle of the summer of the birth, as much as the space to the hour of exit from the belly of the mother; and what remains will be the mean term. And then the life of the "donkey" born in the womb of the mother is directed from the mean delay to the greater delay; he has in his body the strengths of the water which God shall add; or the lesser delay is from the mean to the lesser; he has a diminution of the body in the delay and a destination in the body of the one born in the belly from the force of the delay of the one born in the womb. And then the third wine of the "donkey," and what it says in the 3rd part, the lesser whole; and when the wine of the friend is mixed with the birth of the one born.
