original: "De fortuna heres et Albom". Albom is a Latinized version of the Arabic term for the Hyleg, the planet that acts as the "giver of life" in a birth chart.
Secondly, it will give a month, and if it is in retrogradation appearing to move backward in the sky it will give days, and if it is under the rays too close to the sun to be seen it will give hours. And when the significance appears entirely as a misfortune, or by opposition, it indicates its minor years; and if a misfortune approaches it from a house or by aspect a specific geometric angle between planets from a good place, that misfortune will give its first years and will not indicate [more]. And when it is in the albom the Hyleg or life-giver, that fortune adds to the years which it gave by itself. And know that with that, it indicates how few years it gave.
And know that many fortunes or misfortunes, when they are retrograde, or in their own house, or bad due to their own weakness, then the fortune will be in a house appropriate to its own house; or in the house of a misfortune, they will not give good, but rather perhaps give evil to their lord. But misfortunes, however few they may be, if another misfortune from the house of the albom itself takes over, it will give a "water" likely a metaphorical term for a flow or measurement of years, and that misfortune does not perish—the misfortune which commits the native the person whose birth chart is being read to that, so that he completes that year. And through retrogradation or that misfortune, those misfortunes hold the mountain likely "mons," a technical term for a calculation or "heap" of years and he will have more than the misfortune determines.
Then, when it reaches the lord of the albom by increase, and it is much more in its body, it does not permit the lord; the mountain adds and leads it to the most appropriate terms for both which it gave in wonderful conjunctions; it adds by increase and by the part, or the co-fortune does not add to the increase unless that body receives it. And there is no addition, as we said, of the instrument with the allegation; and when a misfortune is with the lord, it will carry away and add from the misfortune in evil and destruction. And if it is a misfortune properly, as with a fortune in impulses, the evil remains from the number of the house. And it is not so with it when it is in misfortunes; it warns and makes unfortunate the misfortune against the misfortune; it terminates much, it raised and conducted so that they are in much, as much as they might harm. By God's [will], with the stars they harm little, they would harm little. And the children, if they are with the determination in the native.
And whatever fortune is in the native does not much increase the star, or in much beyond they will not harm in the removal of the mountain of the instrument a little. And the lord of the albom, when it is in increase, the lord of the native adds his first mountains. And if it makes the albom unfortunate and weakens it, it will diminish the properties of the native because he does not have the mountains of time. And Zalbanthus likely a reference to an Arabic astrologer, possibly Al-Qabisi (Alcabitius) or similar said that it adds with a fortune and diminishes with a misfortune as many mountains as the albom gave, because it is in those in its body. And if he himself is born by the aspect of the native, let his life and fortunes be [judged]. And if by the part which is a fortune in the native it should reach a better state than it is then, both in dignity and by the impulses of the native from the house toward strength and stability. And if it reaches the house, it will diminish its weakness and the strength of its accidents. And when there is a fortune in the native of a king and it is badly disposed, the native reaches the middle more by the duals toward the strength of its essence. And if it is in its own fortune, such as mediocre and toward good, that is better for its mountain and reaches toward weakness and evil.
And know that the fortune of the misfortune which is in the one made unfortunate by a misfortune is full, and let there be a multiplication of the part because the misfortune is more than it is with this, the mountain itself is full and makes that mountain unfortunate, so that it increases and diminishes the body and the place. And if a misfortune should be with this, and that which it makes unfortunate is in a weak place and has no appropriation from the house, nor is it in a fortune, or it approaches it, or it makes it more unfortunate. And it approaches—it will diminish those whose life is short; it reaches a defect and will be a misfortune. And if the defect and the part of fortune and that which is in these reaches [it], it will allege with a fortune or misfortune in the native—the mountain of the instrument. And it does not approach in the weakness of the misfortune in the non-multiplication that it diminishes the mountain under the rays or by retrogradation in conjunctions, and it will allege with it the "water" by the above-mentioned descriptions, the multiplication of the native by the move of God, and let his life arrive. And know when it will be in fortune in multiplication. And then I will induce the contradiction of the unfortunate ones so that they resist the native and the misfortune [and] fortune. And perhaps in the multiplication of the native they themselves will be the misfortune of his part.
It touches because in the multiplication they are places or in every multiplication of the native. And when the lord is in multiplication and a misfortune approaches it, and that misfortune is in multiplication, when the misfortune reaches it, they move in that hour. And through the albom when it will be unfortunate in the native and in the place of the rays [there is] weakness; when it reaches retrogradation or the terms, they are places of multiplication. And when the native does not have an albom, let him take by the fortune in which sign it fell, as the water [takes] the lord, and the fortune approaches in that sign the mountain, and through that fortune it is changed to that lord because it is the native, and it adds upon that the time of the lord through the fortune, and he says the native will live a day or a month. And then let that mountain be upon the lord of the albom, let it be by the part thus in itself; it induces the month and days and the native does not complete a full year unless they live accordingly. And know that if it will be with the time, that if from the native in the time, that if the time is better than that which is a fortune in the second sign, and that house was small.
