I saw in visions of the night, and behold, one like the SON OF MAN was coming with the clouds of the heavens: And to Him was given Dominion, and Glory, and a Kingdom, and all peoples, nations, and languages shall worship Him: His Dominion is an everlasting dominion original: "dominium sæculi," literally "dominion of the age" or "eternal dominion", which shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not perish.
In Swedenborg’s theology, the "Son of Man" represents the Lord in respect to the Word (the scriptures), and "coming in the clouds" signifies the opening of the Word's internal, spiritual meaning.
I, John, saw a New Heaven and a New Earth: and I saw the holy City, New Jerusalem, descending from God out of Heaven, prepared as a Bride adorned for her Husband. And the Angel spoke with me, saying, "Come, I will show you THE BRIDE, THE LAMB’S WIFE"; and he carried me away in the spirit onto a great and high mountain, and showed me the great holy City, Jerusalem, descending out of Heaven from God.
He who sat upon the Throne said, "Behold, I MAKE ALL THINGS NEW"; and he said to me, "Write, because these words are true and faithful."
Swedenborg interprets the "New Jerusalem" not as a literal city, but as a "New Church" or a new state of spiritual life and doctrine among mankind.
