...about spiritual truth, you cannot think analytically unless the Divine flows from His Wisdom through the Spiritual World; as for me, I have not been able to, nor can I now. Indeed, I have perceptibly and sensibly noticed that InfluxThe theological concept that life and wisdom flow from God into the created world. continuously for twenty-six years now; therefore, I say this as a witness.
Can Nature have Use as its goal, and can it arrange those uses into orders and forms? This is only possible for one who is Wise. Only God, who possesses infinite Wisdom, can so order and form the Universe. Who else can foresee and provide what is needed for food and clothing—food from the harvests of the field, the fruits of the earth, and from animals; and clothing from the same? Among the wonders found there is that those lowly worms called Silkworms original: "Bombyces" clothe and magnificently adorn both women and men, from Queens and Kings down to maidservants and menservants. Also, those lowly worms called Bees original: "Apes" provide wax for lights, which fill Temples and Halls with splendor. These and many other examples are supporting evidence that God, by Himself through the Spiritual World, operates everything that happens in Nature.
To this it must be added that in the Spiritual World, those who have confirmed themselves in favor of Nature based on visible things in the world—to the point of becoming atheists—have been seen. Their Understanding appeared in spiritual light to be open below but closed above. This is because, in their thoughts, they looked downward toward the earth and not upward toward Heaven. Above their sensory level (which is the lowest part of the intellect), there appeared something like a veil flashing with hellfire; for some it was black like soot, and for others, leaden like a corpse. Therefore, let everyone beware of confirming nature, but instead confirm God; there is no lack of evidence original: "supellex", literally 'furniture' or 'equipment', here referring to the abundance of arguments or materials available for belief..
That the Unity of God can be concluded from the creation of the Universe is because the Universe is a coherent Work—like a single entity from first things to last—and it depends on one God just as a body depends on its soul. The Universe was created in such a way that God can be omnipresent, holding each and every part of it under His guidance, and containing it as one forever, which is what it means to preserve it. It is also for this reason that Jehovah God says that He is the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and the Omega (Isaiah 44:6; Revelation 1:8, 17); and elsewhere, that He makes all things, spreads out the heavens, and extends the Earth by Himself (Isaiah 44:24). This great System called the Universe is a coherent Work like a single entity from firsts to lasts because God, in creating it, intended one End In this context, 'End' refers to the ultimate purpose or goal.: an Angelic Heaven from the Human Race. The means to that end are all the things that make up the world; for whoever wills the end also wills the means.
Therefore, whoever contemplates the World as a Work containing the means to that end can contemplate the created Universe as a coherent Work. Such a person can see that the World is a complex of uses in successive order for the Human Race, from which the Angelic Heaven comes. Divine Love cannot intend any other end than the eternal happiness of humans from His own Divine nature, and His Divine Wisdom cannot produce anything other than the uses that serve as means to that end. From an inspection of the World with this universal idea, every wise person can understand that the Creator of the universe is one, and that His Essence is Love and Wisdom. Therefore, there is nothing so small in the world that a use does not lie hidden within it, near or far, for the sake of man—for his food from the fruits of the earth and animals, and his clothing from the same. It is among the wonders that those lowly worms called Silkworms clothe and magnificently adorn both women and men, from Queens and Kings to maidservants and menservants; and that the lowly worms which are Bees supply wax for lights, which fill Temples and Halls with splendor. Those who look at specific things in the world individually, and not at all things universally in a series (in which there are ends, mediating causes, and effects), and those who do not derive Creation from Divine Love through Divine Wisdom, cannot see that the Universe is...
