The Book of Visions and Instructions of Blessed Angela of Foligno

We declare, in order to comply with the decrees of Urban VIII dated March 13, 1625, June 5, 1631, and July 5, 1634, concerning the canonization of saints and the beatification of the blessed, that we do not intend to give any of the facts or words contained in this work more authority than is given or will be given to them by the Catholic Church, to which we pride ourselves on being very humbly submitted.
Pope Urban VIII (1623–1644) established strict rules regarding private revelations and the "cult" of uncanonized individuals to ensure that personal spiritual writings were not treated as official Church dogma without formal review.

NOTHING STANDS IN THE WAY
