The image depicted here is a reproduction of a 15th-century fresco portrait. It shows Blessed Angela of Foligno (1248–1309), a prominent Italian mystic and member of the Secular Franciscan Order. She is portrayed with a halo and her hands crossed over her chest, a traditional gesture of prayerful devotion and humility. The artist, Pierantonio Mezzastris, was a notable painter from the Umbrian school, active in the region where Angela lived and died.
