Angela Da Foligno Angela of Foligno (1248–1309) was an Italian mystic and Franciscan tertiary. She is often called the "Mistress of Theologians" because of the depth of her recorded spiritual visions.

The "Divine Consolation" (Latin: Liber de vere fidelium experientia) is the primary record of Angela's spiritual journey, dictated to her confessor, Brother Arnaldo. It describes her conversion and her thirty "steps" toward mystical union with God.
