Literary Manuscripts
original: "Mss. Lit." An archival abbreviation for "Manuscrits Littéraires" (French) or "Manuscripta Litteraria" (Latin), used to categorize the document within a library collection.
original: "Le Lion amoureux." This is the title of a famous fable by Jean de La Fontaine (1621–1695). In the story, a lion falls in love with a peasant woman and allows his teeth and claws to be clipped to win her hand, leaving him defenseless against his enemies. It serves as a cautionary tale about the vulnerability brought about by passion.
