Kepler's landmark work "Harmonices Mundi" (The Harmony of the World) explores the mathematical and musical relationships in geometry, music, and astronomy.—dedicated to your Name—with a serene countenance, and to interpret this sign of my most devoted affection toward You as fair and good; and indeed, may you delight your Royal mind with the contemplation of the works of God, as much as the necessary duties of the Kingdom will allow; and by the examples of Concord original: "Concordiæ." Here meaning harmony or agreement, particularly the mathematical order Kepler found in the heavens. shining forth from the visible works of God, may you strengthen and stir up within yourself a zeal for Concord and for Peace, both Ecclesiastical and Political; and finally, may you deign to favor me and my studies with your most merciful Royal patronage.
