While no text was written on this side of the paper, the ink from the reverse side has seeped through the fibers, creating a mirrored "ghost" image of the text on the other side. The faint, reversed lettering visible here indicates the start of a Preface original Latin: "PREFATIO" and bears the date In the Year 1594 original Latin: "ANNO M. D. XCIIII".
