In the physical manuscript, this page contains no text or illustrations. Such pages, known as flyleaves or endpapers, act as a protective buffer between the heavy covers of the book and the internal content. The minor discoloration and spotting noted in the original description are referred to as foxing, a common aging process in old paper caused by high humidity or the presence of mineral salts in the paper fibers.
