This is the account of the division Kufale: The Ethiopic title of the book, meaning "Division" or "Distribution," referring to how history is partitioned into specific time periods of the days of the law and the testimony 1, for the events of the years, for their weeks 2, and for their Jubilees Jubilees: Periods of 49 years, consisting of seven "weeks" of seven years each throughout all the years of the world, just as the Lord 3 spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai when he went up to receive the tablets of stone containing the law and the commandments, by the word of the Lord, as He said to him: "Come up to the top of the mountain" 4.
And it happened in the first year of the exodus of the children of Israel from Egypt, in the third month, on the sixteenth day of that month, that the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: "Come up to Me here 5 on the mountain, and I will give you the two tablets of stone containing the law and the commandments which I have begun to write, so that you may teach them." And Moses went up to the mountain of God, and the glory of the Lord dwelt upon Mount Sinai, and a cloud overshadowed it for six days. And the Lord called to Moses on the seventh day from the midst of the cloud; and the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a burning fire on the top of the mountain 6. And Moses was there 7 on the mountain for forty days and forty nights, and the Lord taught him the account of what was from the beginning.
