...Six days He worked; and we keep Sabbath¹ original: "nasenbet" — "we keep Sabbath." And⁶ variant in Codex A: "and I will sanctify him" I have sanctified it for Myself; and thus I will bless them, and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.

And I have chosen the seed of Jacob the biblical patriarch, son of Isaac from among all the seed of the children of men, and I have recorded him as My firstborn son, and have sanctified him for Myself for all eternity.⁷ variant in Codex T: "for the world" And the Sabbath days⁸ variant in Codex A: "and the days" I will make known to them, that they may keep the Sabbath on it from all work.

And He made therein a sign for them so that they too might keep Sabbath with us on the seventh day—to eat, and to drink, and to bless Him who created all things, just as He has blessed and sanctified for Himself a people who appear from among all nations, and that they might keep Sabbath together with us.

And He made His will come to pass⁹ variant in Codex A: "for Him" before Him, offering a sweet fragrance which is acceptable before Him all the days. There were 22 heads of humanity original: "፳ወ፪" — Ge'ez numeral for 22. This refers to the twenty-two generations from Adam to Jacob from Adam until Jacob¹⁰ variant in Codex A: "until Him"; and 22¹¹ variant in Codex A: "and 22 which He desired, these things He made" kinds of work were performed until the seventh day. This [Jacob] is blessed and holy, and that [the Sabbath] is also blessed and holy; and this one with that one were made for holiness and for blessing.

And it was granted to this one [Jacob] that they should be¹² variant in Codex A: "that it should be" all their days blessed and holy, according to the first law, just as He sanctified and blessed the Sabbath day on the third¹³ variant in Codex A: "the day of" seventh; He created the heavens...
