...of the land, and every tree planted in it is holy. And because of this, it was ordained for her who gives birth to a male or a female this judgment: for all these days [she is] holy; she shall not touch original: "ኢትለስፋ" (she shall not touch). This refers to the prohibition against touching sacred objects or food during the period of ritual impurity. [anything holy] and into the sanctuary she shall not enter until those days for a male or female are completed. This law and testimony was given and written for the children of Israel so that they might keep it for all time.
And in the first week original: "ሰባባ" (seven/week). In the Book of Jubilees, time is measured in "weeks" of seven years each. of the first Jubilee, Adam and his wife were in the Garden of Eden for seven years, serving and guarding and working. And behold, they were pure, doing everything that was shown to them to [be/behave]... The margin contains a fragment of German: "sich zu...", likely a note from a modern scholar regarding the behavior or condition of the pair. and they were serving; and he was naked, but he did not know it and was not ashamed. And they guarded it [the garden] from the birds and from the wild animals and from the cattle, and they gathered its fruit and ate, and they set aside the remainder for himself and for his wife; they set aside that which was to be stored.
And the end of the seven years arrived, having completed exactly seven years there. And in the third month, on the seventeenth day, the serpent original: "አርዌ፡ ምድር" (beast of the earth/serpent) came and approached the woman. And the serpent said to the woman: "Has God commanded you not to eat from any of the fruit of the trees in the garden?"
And she said to him: "Of all the fruit of the trees in the garden, He said to us, 'Eat,' but of the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden, God said to us, 'Do not eat of it, and do not touch it, so that you do not die.'" And the serpent said to her...
