More is depicted with long, wavy hair, wearing a dark academic or clerical gown and a broad white collar. Below the oval frame is a coat of arms containing three stars (mullets) on a chevron above a crescent moon. The crest atop the helmet is a lion's head. A banner below the shield bears a motto. The entire composition sits upon a stone pedestal which contains an engraved inscription of the subject's name and dates.
