A certain man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a property and kept back original: "ἐνοσφίσατο" (enosphisato) — implying a secretive or fraudulent withholding of funds. some of the price, his wife also being aware of it; and bringing a certain part, he laid it at the feet of the apostles. But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself some of the price of the land? While it remained, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your authority? Why is it that you have conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God." And hearing these words, Ananias fell down and breathed his last. And great fear came upon all who heard these things. And the

But The Armenian text begins this section with the word "Իսկ" (Isk - "But") with an enlarged initial letter. a certain man, Ananias by name, with Sapphira, sold a farm and thought to keep [part] of the price, his wife also knowing; and he brought a part and placed it at the feet of the apostles. Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to think to keep [part] of the price of the estate? Was it not yours while it stayed? And when it was sold, was it in your power? Why is it that you placed this thing in your heart? You did not lie to men but to God." And as Ananias heard these words, he fell and gave up the spirit original: "եհան զոգի" (ehan zogi) — literally "took out the soul," a common idiom for dying.. And great fear was upon all who heard. younger men arose and wrapped him up, and carrying him out, they buried him. Now it happened after an interval of about three hours that his wife, not knowing what had happened, came in. And Peter answered her, "Tell me, did you sell the land for so much?" And she said, "Yes, for so much." But Peter said to her, "Why is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out." And immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men, coming in, found her dead, and carrying her out, they buried her beside her husband. And great fear came upon the whole church original: "ἐκκλησίαν" (ekklēsian) — one of the earliest uses of this term to describe the community of believers. and upon all who heard these things. And through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. And they were all with one accord in Solomon’s Portico A covered walkway or colonnade on the eastern side of the Temple in Jerusalem.. But of the rest, no one dared to join them, but the people magnified them.

And they were all with one accord in the Portico of Solomon. And of the others, no one dared to approach them, but the people honored them.
