Spirit said to Philip: "Draw
near and join yourself to
this chariot." And
Philip, running up,
heard that he was reading
the prophet Isaiah, and
said: "Do you perhaps understand
what you are reading?" And
he said: "How could
I possibly, if no one
should guide me?"
Philip to come up and
sit with him. Now the
passage of the scripture
which he was reading was this:

opening his mouth, and
beginning from

preached to him the gospel of

they came to some water, and
the eunuch says: "Behold,

being baptized?" And he

The eunuch gave
an answer to Philip and said: "I
beseech you, concerning whom
does the prophet say this?
Concerning himself, or concerning
someone else?" Philip
opened his mouth,
and beginning from
these scriptures,

As they went along
the road, they came to
some water, and
the eunuch says: "Behold,
water. What hinders me
from being baptized?" And he
commanded the chariot to stop,
and they both went down into
the water, Philip and
the eunuch, and he baptized him.
