In Joppa there was a certain
disciple named
Tabitha, which being translated
is called Dorcas original: Δορκάς — meaning Gazelle.
This woman was
full of good works
and alms which
she did. And it happened in
those days that
she became sick and
died; and having
washed her, they placed
her in an upper
room. And Lydda being
near to Joppa, the
disciples, having heard
that Peter was in it,
sent two men,
urging him, "Do not
delay in coming to
us." Having arisen,
Peter went with them.
When he arrived, they
led him up to the upper room.
All the widows
stood by him
weeping and
showing him
the tunics and garments,
as many as
Dorcas had made while
she was with them.
But having put
everyone outside, Peter
knelt down and
prayed; and turning...

that Peter was there,

entreating, "Do not delay
[to come] to us."
Having arisen, Peter
came with them.
When he came, they took
him to the upper
room, and all the widows
stood around
him. They
wept and showed the robes
and the garments,
as many as
the Gazelle original: այծեմնիկն (Aytsémnikn)
had made with them.
Having sent everyone
outside, Peter
knelt down and
prayed...
