Some may conquer whole nations, and force powerful kings
To bow their necks beneath their own command: original: "subdere colla." A classical idiom for total submission or enslavement.

As the punished original: "plexa." This can mean "intertwined" or "woven," suggesting that the crimes were complex or that the punishment was inextricably linked to the sin itself. crimes of the people of Sodom demonstrate.
