He said, “O King, there are many logical and traditional proofs for this claim.” The King replied, “State them.” A man among them, who was of the lineage of the Honorable Abbas original: Hazrat 'Abbás (the uncle of the Prophet Muhammad); may God be pleased with him!, then stepped up to the podium and began to speak this oration with eloquence and fluency:
“Praise is due to that true Creator who has prepared so much to sustain the world and has placed so many things upon the expanse original: 'Arsa—area, plain, or expanse of the earth. For the sake of weak original: Za'ífu-l bunyán—frail or weak in constitution humanity, He has created such a variety of animals. Happy is the state of those who, by pleasing Him, are traveling the path to the afterlife. What shall be said of those people who, through disobedience, have unrighteously turned away from Him?
"And blessings without limit are due to the True Prophet, Muhammad the Chosen, whom God Almighty sent after all the other prophets to guide humanity, and whom He made the leader of them all. He alone is the king of all Jinn supernatural spirits in Islamic mythology and men, and the support and refuge for everyone on the Day of Judgment. Benedictions and peace be upon his pure original: Pák—pure or holy offspring, through whom religion and the world were regulated, and through whom the Islamic faith was spread original: Riwáj páya—obtained currency or became widespread.
