This library is built in the open.
If you spot an error, have a suggestion, or just want to say hello — we’d love to hear from you.

This is a digital copy of a book that has been preserved on library shelves for generations before it was carefully scanned by Google as part of a project intended to make the world's books available online.
The book has outlived its copyright and can now be made accessible to the public. A public domain book is a book that was never subject to copyright or for which the copyright protection period has expired. Whether a book is in the public domain may vary from country to country. Public domain books are our gateway to the past and represent a historical, cultural, and scientific wealth that is often difficult to discover.
Traces of use, annotations, and other marginalia contained in the original volume are also found in this file—a reminder of the long journey the book has taken from the publisher to a library and finally to you.
Google is proud to work in partnership with libraries to digitize public domain material and make it accessible to a broad audience. Public domain books belong to the public, and we are merely their custodians. Nevertheless, this work is expensive. To continue providing this resource, we have taken steps to prevent abuse by commercial parties. This includes technical restrictions on automated queries.
We ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:
Use of the files for non-commercial purposes We designed Google Book Search for end users and want you to use these files only for personal, non-commercial purposes.
No automated queries Do not send automated queries of any kind to the Google system. If you are conducting research on machine translation, optical character recognition OCR, or other areas where access to text in large quantities is useful, please contact us. We encourage the use of public domain material for these purposes and may be able to help you.
Retention of Google branding elements The Google "watermark" that you find in every file is important for providing information about this project and helps users find further material via Google Book Search. Please do not remove the watermark.
Stay within the law Regardless of your intended use, you must be aware of your responsibility to ensure that your use is legal. Do not assume that a book that we believe is in the public domain for users in the USA is also in the public domain for users in other countries. Whether a book is still subject to copyright varies from country to country. We cannot provide advice on whether a specific use of a specific book is legally permitted. Do not assume that the appearance of a book in Google Book Search means it can be used in any form and anywhere in the world. A copyright violation can have serious consequences.
Google’s goal is to organize the world’s information and make it universally useful and accessible. Google Book Search helps readers discover the world’s books and supports authors and publishers in reaching new audiences. You can search the entire text of the book on the internet at http://books.google.com.
