The Concept is, from this perspective, to be viewed primarily as the third part in relation to Being and Essence, as well as to the Immediate and to Reflection. Being and Essence are, in this sense, the moments of its becoming In this philosophical system, "moments" are not points in time, but essential stages or components that contribute to a larger whole.; however, the Concept is their foundation and truth, as the identity in which they have perished and are contained. They are contained within it because it is their result, but no longer as Being and Essence; they only possess these determinations insofar as they have not yet returned into this, their unity.
The objective logic, which considers Being and Essence, therefore actually constitutes the genetic exposition of the Concept Meaning the story of how the Concept "comes to be" through the earlier stages of logic.. More precisely, Substance is already the real Essence, or Essence insofar as it is united with Being and has entered into Actuality. The Concept therefore has Substance as its immediate presupposition; it is that which is in itself The "in-itself" (German: an sich) refers to the potential or internal nature of a thing before it is fully expressed., what the Concept is as manifested. The dialectical movement of Substance through Causality and Reciprocal Action Reciprocal Action (German: Wechselwirkung) describes a relationship where two things influence each other mutually, rather than one being a simple cause of the other. is therefore the immediate genesis of the Concept, through which its becoming is represented. But its becoming has, like all becoming, the significance that it is the reflection of that which passes over into its ground, and that the initially apparent Other, into which the former has passed, constitutes its truth. Thus the Concept is the truth of Substance, and since the specific mode of relationship of substance is Necessity, Freedom reveals itself as the truth of Necessity, and as the mode of relationship of the Concept.
The proper, necessary further determination of Substance is the positing To "posit" (German: Setzen) means to state or establish something as a fact or a specific determination within the logical system. of that which is in and for itself
